Eulogies Pour In for Rob and Michele Reiner as Medical Examiner's Findings Remain Under Wraps.
More than two weeks following the shocking loss of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues persist in remembering the duo.
A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director
Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he only now felt able to express about his personal sorrow.
"Enough time has elapsed that I can now articulate my loss into words," shared Elwes, noting that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "Once we started passing more hours together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."
The actor posted never-before-seen clips from the film, remarking that he doesn't recollect "any day without joy".
"This story is about affection, allegiance and giving. Principles that Rob held dear. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to direct it," Elwes wrote.
He went on to praise Michele Reiner, stating: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He concluded with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."
Martin Scorsese Remembers a Friend and Collaborator
In a separate piece, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.
"Right away, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese wrote.
Scorsese highlighted Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the lead role.
"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked wonderfully with the cast, and he comprehended the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese noted.
Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Sealed
Recently, a Los Angeles court official agreed to bar the publication of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, following a petition from the LAPD.
A court order placed a security hold on the cases to prohibit the public release of "all case details, documents, files or images" connected to the active case.
The relevant authority had previously confirmed their deaths were the outcome of murder, with a official listing noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".
