Mohamed Salah Issues Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the group of players in the wake of the uproar from his televised remarks.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a European match following criticising the club and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”
The head coach has chosen not to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.
Looking Ahead
He emphasized that the team's response stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” the midfielder explained.
Jones also suggested that a player's desire to start is preferable. “It's clear there are certain ways you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”
Positive Results
Their results have remained strong in the matches since the initial controversy. The player is convinced the Salah's words were not designed to destabilise the squad.
“In moments of frustration, it has consistently come from a place of caring,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and securing victories.”
