The former personal attorney for Donald Trump has resigned as the US Attorney for New Jersey. This follows a court battle that invalidated her right to hold the office.
Official Departure
The head of the Justice Department, the Attorney General, announced her stepping down on the start of the week. Bondi stated that the judicial decision made it "untenable" for Habba to lead the department effectively.
"But do not mistake adherence to the ruling as defeat," she wrote. "The effort will now extend throughout the nation."

The departure follows closely on a federal appellate panel ruled that she had been unlawfully serving as US attorney. This judgment is likely to affect numerous criminal cases in the state.
