Spurs Boss Frank Labels Goalkeeper Critics 'Not Real Fans'
Fulham Begin Powerfully to Beat Spurs and Raise Tension on Frank
Spurs fans who booed goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario were informed afterwards "those individuals cannot be real Spurs fans" by manager Frank.
Tottenham conceded two goals in the opening initial moments to lose 2-1 to their opponents, registering their tenth Premier League at home defeat of the year.
But the primary talking point was the visitors' next goal when the keeper lost possession well beyond his box.
He ventured out to handle a long ball and took the ball near the touchline.
But, rather than kicking it out of play, the Italian spun and attempted to clear away, but slipped as the ball skimmed off Harry Wilson and was controlled by King.
The forward passed the ball off to Welsh midfielder Harry Wilson, who curled a strike into the net from the sideline recorded at thirty-six point six yards.
Seconds later when the ball came to the keeper again, some Tottenham supporters jeered him.
The team were jeered off at the interval, with the club 2-0 behind, and again at full-time.
A particular of those booing sessions truly angered Frank.
"I heard a few of our supporters reportedly booed the situation and booed after, which, in my opinion is completely unjustifiable," the Danish manager stated about the fans' response to his shot-stopper.
"Those individuals cannot be true Tottenham fans that do that. Fair enough jeering after the game, fine, but when we are playing, we are supporting one another, we are with one another going forward."
Tete had given the visitors a early lead prior to Wilson's goal – with Kudus netting for Spurs in an better second-half showing.
Former top-flight goalkeeper Hart remarked that the next score was "completely avoidable".
"I do understand the fans' disappointment," Hart added. "I am aware the role Vicario is performing. He's a great squad member, he is a true leader in the dressing room but ultimately you are going to be assessed by your actions.
"The keeper was heavily implicated in what ended up to be the decisive score."
'It's In the Game, I Can Handle It'
Thomas Frank Stood Up For His Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario Following the Game
Italy national team the keeper is in his third campaign with Tottenham.
The 29-year-old stated after the game that he had to accept the criticism.
"The second goal was a error of my own, I accept accountability for that," he said.
"The intent was to clear the ball long and I simply hit the ball in a poor way. It was an even bigger mountain to climb."
He said being booed "comes with football".
"I am mature, what can I say?" he continued. "We can't be influenced by the situation in the stands. Supporters have the right to do what they think.
"It's on us to remain increasingly calm, to focus on our own performance. The team is lacking in composure and poise to overturn results. Today is a bad loss and it is hard to take."
'I Was Surprised Nobody Returned to the Line'
In spite of the keeper's error, it was far from an simple goal for Harry Wilson to convert.
In fact it was the second most distant top division goal of the season – after Adams' 43.3 metre strike for Bournemouth against the Black Cats, which incidentally too came on the same day.
Wilson said he was "somewhat taken aback" that he still had an open goal to aim for.
Ten seconds passed between the keeper coming out of his box and the midfielder striking – which was five seconds following the clearance.
"I felt like the keeper was away from the box for a long time," Wilson remarked.
"It amazed me none of the back four went back to the line. When not one of them covered the net, my eyes lit up somewhat.
"Udogie slipped too, which allowed me a bit of extra opportunity. Then it was solely about trying to make the correct connection and get it on target. I felt a good sense, the moment it came off my foot, that it was heading in."
'When You're in a Poor Run, Everything Seems to Work Against You'
Jeering Whilst We Are Still Playing Is Totally Unacceptable - Frank
Although the keeper's mistake led headlines, this was an overall poor performance for Spurs to extend their home struggles.
The match was their 10th home defeat of 2025 in the Premier League, a joint team statistic matching nineteen ninety-four and 2003.
They still have home fixtures against Frank's former club the Bees and champions the Reds to come before the end of the season.
Just a single of those victories have come since Frank replaced Ange Postecoglou in the summer.
"When you're down 2-0 following six minutes, there is a huge challenge to climb," stated Frank.
"During in a bad spell, everything appears to go against you too – the first was a deflected attempt, the next is a error from the keeper.
"This result leaves us in a place where we have lost an additional match. Every game has a single story, this game we lost in the first six minutes.
"We just need to keep working. The second half was significantly improved and with luck something we can use to learn."
Tottenham have been defeated in four straight at home London derbies for the initial time in the top division.
Furthermore they are averaging 9.5 shots and three point two efforts on goal per game in the Premier League – their poorest rates on file in a single season (since at least the 2003-04 season).
Ex- Fulham midfield player Danny Murphy stated that Frank has to endure the criticism.
"He's got take the criticism," Murphy remarked. "He has taken a prestigious job at a huge football club with massive anticipation. There is pressure and responsibility that comes with that.
"The performances at home have been disappointing and they have to improve {quickly|
