Trump's Business Attempted to Hire Nearly 200 Workers on Visas in 2025

Donald Trump’s corporate entity accelerated its recruitment of foreign workers on short-term work permits this period, while his administration was placing obstacles for other businesses wanting to do the identical, an analysis published recently claimed.

According to information from the US Department of Labor, the Trump Organization sought to hire at least nearly 200 overseas employees in 2025 for temporary positions at the US president’s Florida property, golf facilities and his Virginia winery.

The quantity of applications for H-2A and H-2B visas covering workers including waitstaff, office assistants, cleaning staff, culinary employees and farm workers was the record submitted by the organization, and increased from 121 in the previous term, when his presidency concluded.

It was also the fifth time in 10 years that the former president had sought to bring in over a hundred foreign employees for temporary positions at Mar-a-Lago, based on available data.

The revelation coincides with a crackdown on legal immigration by his administration that has involved the implementation of a substantial charge on skilled worker visas; increased review of the activities of the millions of people who already hold American work permits; and restrictive new rules for foreign students and reporters.

Overall, the Trump Organization sought to employ 566 overseas workers over the five years the former president has been in the presidency, from 2017 to 2021 and during the upcoming year.

Significantly, Trump was questioned by some in the Republican party this period for comments justifying the need for overseas employees when a company was unable to find people with “particular skills” to occupy certain positions.

“You cannot just say a nation is entering, going to spend billions to construct a plant, and going to take people off an jobless roster who have been unemployed in years, and they’re going to start making their missiles. It doesn’t work that effectively,” he stated to a host after she suggested that foreign workers lower the wages of US workers.

The White House refused a request for response, and the Trump Organization did not immediately respond to an inquiry.
