Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday night. The 36-year-old was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on Monday, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

Honoring the Deceased

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the loss of his two close friends.”

The news of his discharge comes as the boxing community shared its support for the star in the following the heartbreaking incident.
